We can arrange an initial 20 minute introduction to say hello. This will be a Microsoft Teams call so we can see each other and have a chat about what’s brought you here. The charge for this is £15. You can then decide if you’d like to work together and book sessions if that’s how you’d like to proceed.

I’m a unique human being, which makes me different from every other therapist! I bring my own set of life experiences, personality and view of the world. I also know how to hold these things, whilst working with you as the focus of the therapy. Therapy should always be about the client! However, I am also a person in the room, and will bring my genuine self to our interactions. I feel strongly that finding the right therapist is essential to the work, so the introductory session is important in giving us a sense of whether we can work well together.

I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, grief/loss, addiction, and issues relating to relationships, health, culture, identity, sexuality, spirituality, parenting.
These are really broad topics! And it’s hard to define my work in terms of key words/labels.
It’s also important to know that you don’t have to be living with a particular named issue in order to benefit from therapy. Some clients are just not feeling themselves and don’t know why. Others feel low, directionless, angry, confused - all kinds of things can bring you to therapy.
If you’re unsure as to whether we can work together, just get in touch and we can have a chat.

It’s a type of talking therapy, originally researched by Carl Rogers in the 1960s. It works on the basis that the therapist and client really work together to explore the feelings and experiences of the client. This is all done in an atmosphere of empathy, acceptance and being real people.
It is not giving advice or telling you what you should do - neither is it saying nothing and nodding! It’s a relational way of working together to find a way through whatever it is that your facing, so that you’re not facing it alone.

There is no limit to the number of sessions you can have, it all depends on how you’re feeling. As we work together, we regularly check in on how things are going and you are able to decide when feels the right time for therapy to end. This is also something we can work towards, if your therapy has been longer term and ending feels like a big step.

The cancellation policy covers this in detail. Let me know as soon as you can. If it’s less than 48 hours notice, you will still be charged for the session. I will offer an alternative time that week, where I have availability to do so.

I have completed an additional training course in ‘Trauma-informed practice’. It means I feel confident working with trauma, am aware of grounding techniques, am responsive to the pace that feels right to an individual and know how to work safely with trauma - for you the client, and myself as the therapist.
